The basic theme of the story

It seems to me that in this short story Charlotte Perkins Gilman raises the theme of the woman’s rights in the society. It is disclosed with the help of the following problems:

• the functions of a wife in a marriage: the narrator has no say in even the smallest details of her life, for all the decisions are made by John, her husband. 
• the problem of freedom: the main character is isolated in her room, she is forbidden to leave it and do whatever she likes. I guess the woman is like a bird in a golden cage.
• the problem of gender: the women we see in the story are meant to find fulfillment in the home, while the men hold positions as high-ranking physicians. The narrator’s lack of a name also reinforces the notion that she is speaking as the voice of women collectively, rather than as an individual.
• the problem of the place of a writer in a society: the narrator consider writing to be the best remedy for her depression, while all the people who surround her find it to be  a tiring activity without no practical good.
